Tips for freezing food

Smrzavajte food as soon as you buy or take out of the garden. What is fresher when it freezes it will be better quality when you defrost it. Most of the food is suitable for freezing, but there are some foods that you should stay away from subzero temperatures. So, do not freeze canned foods or eggs in the shell (the shell may break and it can even penetrate the bacteria). Technically, you can freeze mayonnaise, lettuce and sauce, but it's a big blow to their quality. Packaging of food is also important - if instead of plastic, aluminum foil bags and decide to keep foods in glass jars, make sure that the glass can bear low temperature so as not to burst.

You can freeze meat in its original packaging in which you purchased it, but if you want to keep longer frozen add another layer of protection, such as bags or cellophane wrappers. It is always good to write it as meat and foods that freezing and the date when you first put it in the freezer. Do not defrost food on the kitchen counter and temperature. The three best ways to defrost the refrigerator, cold water and a microwave.

How to freeze fresh foods

Fresh fruit will be best if you freeze it cut in pieces, making sure it's not wet and wrap them in parchment paper or cellophane. Some people prefer to throw pieces of fruit in sugar or sugar syrup to preserve the texture and flavor.

Vegetables usually need to be blanched (boiled or steamed in a short interval) before freezing to preserve the flavor, texture and color. Then it should be stored in a wrapper or cellophane bags and freeze.

Influence of freezing on spices

Pepper, garlic, green pepper and some herbs are becoming stronger and bitter. Onions and peppers change the taste. Celery grows stronger. Curry gets uncomfortable moldy taste. Salt loses flavor and enhances the rancidity of foods that contain fat. So when you put the spices in the food you plan to freeze, put them in a little later after thawing and before eating add more.
